The Pope’s visit to Tacloban gave hope to the people living there who were once victims of tragedy, who once lost the lives of their love ones. His message gave them a new direction, that there is still life, a happy after the devastations of the typhoon “Yolanda”.
According to Archbishop John F. Du of Palo, Leyte, he could not find the right words to express his deepest gratitude towards the Pope. He gave thanks for bringing comfort and giving mercy to the people who were affected by the previous super typhoon.
Although, during the times that the people in Leyte were battling against the monster typhoon, physically the Pope were not there but they knew deep inside their hearts, the Pope was sending out his prayers for the people in Philippines who were affected.

“Most holy father, I would never have imagined I would be able to say these words, in this very place, in front of your Holiness, and in the presence of many pilgrims: We are on Yolanda ground zero. In this very place, where we are standing, on that fateful day of November 8, 2013… In the midst of the pain and suffering, it was our Christian faith that helped us through,”
